It will be updated periodically with activities that reinforce the current 3rd Grade Social Studies and English Language Arts Core Standards.

This Project
This website is being created as the capstone project of my graduate degree in Education at Western Connecticut State University. WestConn is located in Danbury, Connecticut, which is just a half hour's drive from New Milford! The aim of this Capstone Project in Education is to allow me to synthesize all the information I have learned over course of my Master's Degree studies and to allow my students to benefit from the knowledge I have gained.
Over the course of the school year, I will be adding information, primary sources, handouts and worksheets to these pages to enhance the learning experience for my Third graders. These materials will be developed using the Common Core and National Social Studies standards. The aim is to encourage students to understand what they need to know for their grade level, to be able to demonstrate this understanding through projects they will do over the course of the school year, and to be motivated by what they are capable of doing.
