Here is a list of helpful websites to explore for additional information in Language Arts.

 

1. The New York State Department of Education standardized test preparation- English/Language Arts (ELA)

This website is geared for Grades 3-8.  The directions state to read the corresponding story on the page and then answer the multiple choice questions.  This is great preparation for increasing comprehension levels.  That can sometimes be a very stressful exercise, since Grade 3 is one of the first years that there is a greater emphasis on standardized testing to measure a child's achievement.

2. Response to Intervention: Intervention Central: This is a great resource for students, parents, and especially teachers to explore for additional resources to help a child who may be struggling with mastering certain Language Arts skills.

The Needham website below is a great link for additional English/Language Arts practice.  It was created by IT specialists in Needham, Massachusetts.  The website is broken down into various activities for students to access in the subject matter of Language Arts.  These activities range from poetry, to prefixes and suffixes, to author pages that also contain many educational resources to enhance English Language Arts experience.

4.The Branches of Government Game:

The game found on this link is an interactive game that improves your knowledge of the 3 Branches of Government.  The object of the game is to move the "description leaf" to the correct branch of the tree, which serves as a symbol of our Government.
